Standards for Registration

Regulation is about defining, sustaining and raising standards.  The UKPHR sets the standards for admission onto and for remaining on the register.

Initial registration is for five years, before the end of which the UKPHR Board requires evidence that the registrant remains fit to practice. We currently require all registrants to participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme however we are working with other professional bodies, including the Faculty of Public Health, to develop a fair and comprehensive system for revalidation of all registrants.

UKPHR is committed to introducing revalidation for its registrants alongside public health doctors. Revalidation will be phased in and so it is likely that some registrants will be requested to undergo revalidation sooner than others.
